Sunday Morning Moment

Sunday Morning Moment

A Poem by Rita L. Sev
"

.

"

Just before 8 a.m.

Out of the autumn-chilled air

Into the warmth of smiles

                   and inside-heat

I head toward my usual spot

In this place named for a saint

(known for his way

with vulgar language)

-         dip my fingers, bless

-         genuflect, kneel, sit

and take in the quiet communion

before the opening hymn.

i used to like when the mass was in latin...mysterious...and most quietly prayed to themselves.

i was an altar boy...i remember these moments.

:) Thanks for reading, Cassie!
A saint known for his use of vulgar language? There's hope for me yet!! Lol!!
Quiet communion is a good thing on any day...sometimes we need to find balance in silent reflection. So much hustle and chaos in the world. :-)
