A Poem by Rita L. Sev
"

Look...

"

Morning clouds hover

weighing on my mind

and then a sunray spills

upon my shade

Protesting the glare,

I move on through the day

feeling my heart’s burdening

pervade

Walking darkened paths

the ends become obscure

sudden breaths of wind

caress my cheek

I brush away the kisses,

head bent against the gloom

intent on falling deeper

in the bleak

Then in the blackest moment,

the grimmest point of night

a winking in the heavens

grabs my eye

I gaze at this bright vision,

the tides within me turn

I hear redemption beckon

from on high

The steadfast loving hand

that reaches for the soul

wears no feathered wings

for ready flight

Our angels are more subtle,

only seen through eyes of faith ~

they’re in the sun ~ the wind ~

and in the starlight.

Thank you, Cassie!
This is truly writing for the Soul! Powerfully beautiful and rich leaving nothing to be questioned; though answering much..... Enjoyed every curvy line..... Simply splendid!

Thanks so much, Gus. There is so much we don't see... but it's there just the same.
Wow.... I could really see it, Rita. You paint a beautiful picture here, both physical and metaphorical. I like the format and rhyme here, great job my friend. Having not been on the cafe in a while, it's good to come back to a great poem from such a great poet.

Thank you, Rose! Have a great night!
I very much enjoy the symbolism you used here. "the steadfast loving hand/that reaches for the soul" is the line that spoke to me the most. Good job :)

Thank you, Rain.
The texture of this one is really beautiful and tender. I love all the references to nature and our place within the cosmic scheme of things, including faith. "Our angels are more subtle,/only seen through eyes of faith" -- a great line that truly symbolizes your enlightenment. Well done, my friend. A lovely write.
