Senryu Series 9/11

A Poem by Rita L. Sev

Towering giants
such small birds that took you down
in September's sun

 Pennsylvania field
became sanctified respite
of amazing grace

Immersed in the dark
a thousand beacons came forth
with the light of hope

We walk through our lives
guaranteed no tomorrows
clinging to regrets

Rita, a haunting memory embedded in the hearts and minds of us all...... God Bless those directly devastated by this horrific, inhumane tragedy! We all lose; no such thing as a winnable war! Thanks for carrying the burden of "expression", we seek solace when faced with the unthinkable! We press on for the masses.... Thanks for sharing your personal touch! Together we all win.......

Thank you so much, Reflection. I agree we seek solace, and need to work together to create it.
Very nice Rita...These senyrus capture the despair and hope of that day...

The shock and horror of that day is something none of us will ever forget.
War truly is hell.
Pray for those in other lands who must live in such hell all the time...

This is still a hard for a lot of people..... A terrible tragedy that happened. A good senryu though, loved the last line.

Sad day, still.....great Senryu's Rita, I particularly like the last one, 'with the light of hope'...always remember how the country pulled together afterwards. Well done!
