Autumn's Ado

Autumn's Ado

A Poem by Rita L. Sev
"

.

"

Out on a limb sways Vermilion

Waving to Goldenrod

Together with Amethyst and Pumpkin

Caught up in a grand act of God

They quilt a vast blanket on field grass

So splendid and brilliant in hue

Each bright season’s leaf

Which denies falling’s grief

Dances in Autumn’s ado.

Perfection, Rita! I love all the colors here and I want to lay on that blanket in the field grass. Come on fall. Come on! Angi~

Will do! :)
You convey a lot in the first stanza and seal this well in the second:

Dances in Autumn’s ado.

I've been seeing a bit of these writes...with the change of the season...

Thank you very much, fwv!
The personification of the colors is brilliant, Rita. What images you have created for us! Yes, I think it is almost time for raking leaves and pumpkins in the Northern climes. Hard for me to identify here in South Florida! :) Very good write. Lydi**

I'm sure Florida has its charms, but I could never do without the foliage in the north in autumn. T.. read more

After living here 44 years, I am used to it. There is no perfect climate, that's for sure.
You have written an ode to spring that dances on the page, Rita. I loved its music and could envision those brightly colored leaves leaving a bright quilt for walkers to crunch through. An excellent read.

Thank you, Joyce! I am watching the leaves carefully now, for the first signs...
