A very fine poem. Such beautiful imagery. I especially loved how you blended all of the colors harmoniously to create a very pleasing image of autumn. I find autumn to be the time when the leaves at their finest beauty, and surely this poem describes such a beauty incredibly well. It's like a painting of a large scene encapsulated into two simple, yet superb stanza. Bravo!

Thank you for your kind words, Gleb! Autumn is such a beautiful time...
This poem give me an inspiring impression of the changing season. It inspired me to write this tiny gift poem for you to keep as your own: It's only two little flaming quatrains:
Autumn
Leaves and flowers
fall after all
tumbling, crumbling
o‘er field and wall.
Flaming creatures
brawl in the Fall
blown by cool winds
that make ‘em crawl.
Beautiful and playful description of my favorite season. Here we get a gazillion walnut tree and wisteria leaves, just yellow. I have a maple tree out back that turns pretty. I can see that from my kitchen window. If we had any money, I'd like to go to Yosemite in the fall. Maybe someday.

Thanks, Annie! I would love to see Yosemite in the fall, too... Maybe after retirement... :)
Hi, Rita. Yes, I visited your blue ridge in Virginia during Autumn. What beautiful colours I saw there. I have lots of photos of them. I understand that the sun produces sugars within the leaves during the summer and then as the Autumn comes on, so do the colours for those sugars....sounds like there must be more to this than meets the eye.
The poem has a lovely lilt, the words are especially well chosen. My favourites are the last three. Each bright....to....Autumn's ado.
I shall be thinking of this poem next month as my Virginian Creeper turns bright scarlet before it sheds its leaves for the November frosts.

i was thinking you might have meant it with the array of colors all clashing and frolicking...
RIta,
A small, well crafted package about my favorite season. I could not help but like this one for pure enjoyment. You show off the colors of fall but with an awareness of something more divine. Lines I especially liked: Caught up in a grand act of God/They quilt a vast blanket on field grass

Thanks, John - I love autumn too, and am eagerly awaiting the change.
Wow Rita this is really cool...I like how you wrap grief around the leaves that won't let go...of course you knew that line would resonate with me today...excellent!
