Stronger Stuff

Stronger Stuff

A Poem by Rita L. Sev

Amazing that we said “I do”

so long ago, before we knew…

In youth, our love, it shined like gold ~

it looked so good, but would it hold?

Real love is not gold in the least,

the shine, in time, will be decreased

Titanium is stronger stuff,

not much sparkle, it handles the tough

Once the glitter has departed

love is not gold, but titanium-hearted

Thank you, Pryde!
Happy Anniversary, Rita! May you laugh and love for many more! It's true, many people who are married at a young age, have to learn the ropes of life together. Compromise and communication are stronger than titanium if you ask me...though it is a great metaphor here. After 38 years, my hubby and I are still learning....and the willingness to learn is what keeps it going! A lovely write, Rita. Now go celebrate! Lydi**
