At first it must be hard, there must be moisture for any germination....not plentiful in asphalt nor in concrete. After germination, there must be nourishment, and water. If there is only one of these,or neither, the plant will fail to grow. That must be very hard for its life's struggle.
Lastly there must be warmth, love and kindness. If any of these are missing, the flower will not blossom, it will not seed, and its cycle will not complete. I watch the bees doing their work, they have a good relationship. I see the flowers acknowledge the sun and the warmth it brings. Because of its early struggle, the plant is strong and now very healthy.
I believe that we should treat all others as nature treats its flowers. Especially those that are less fortunate than ourselves, with their hard beginning, they too can grow strong.
Your thoughtful few words in this poem, have made me ponder deeply for a while now. Absolutely lovely.

i wish it could happen more often...that we could have nature grow back through all of the places we have ruined it with our buildings and concrete..
nothing like a beautiful pasture that surrounds a lake....or a beautiful forest in autumn...but there are less and less of them.

Hi Rita A beautiful write and message that is short, concise and succinct. Lovely presentation and words of wisdom. A skillfully crafted Senryu. Perfect 5/7/5 syllabic form. Good imagery, flow and tone. Lovely depth of feeling. Good word choice. Nice alliteration, assonance and consonance. Well penned and a much enjoyed read. Write on!
I have to say; our muses must be sisters or something. It seems you get one half of the story and me the other. Wine, cracks in the pavement, zombies and gravity. LOVE that we do this. My Sista from another Motha.
Scratch that Sista from another Mista.

Yes, Pryde, I do think our Muses must be connected in some way - so cool! :)
