They give their visions voice

They sing of sighs and butterflies

And make the heart rejoice

They tell their thoughts to soar

At their command words take a stand

Upon a stormy shore

They lift the wings of prayer

They share their souls and lofty goals ~

Long live the poets’ dare!

Wooow --- I think you summed it all up with this poem.

I don't write every day but there are things I encounter in MY Life that INSPIRE me to write. It could just be something I see on TV, or just random stories I hear from family or friends.... but more mostly my Inner Thoughts and Feelings on a Deeper Level. [I usually tell people don't take my poems literally - "Read Between the Lines."]

this is nice. in fact, it's beautiful, in verse, meaning, rhyme, and font.
however, this is not criticism but a tip, however, the poem I think ends too shortly. I was feeling immersed in it when it ended.

I think as poets we are dreamers....yes. Our words and structure of our writes certainly give the sense that we dream.
This one flowed effortlessly Rita. I must say that I have read some of your writings to my 2 kids. They do love the way in which you write. Your writing seems to have that connection with a very wide audience in which I find some of them inspiring for children to listen too....ever thought of doing a childrens book?
