Freshwater Tears

Freshwater Tears

A Poem by Rita L. Sev
"

Summer, 2013

"
Ancient waters flow
in sepia streams
beckoning under a deceptive sky

ravenous after having her fill
she seizes
swallows whole
the drifting deadwood
adding freshwater tears
to the flood

Summertime is really the awaited moment to some, but it's so sad it also brings grief to others.
Sad but written beautifully, Rita. You are brilliant to tell different stories through your poesy.

Great!

beautifully penned Rita and so sad this keeps happening , water seems to be a magnet for youngsters in the summer months...

Yes, it does... thank you, Stella.
How many times have we all been recycled ? Each life comes and goes blossoming in the spring of our years only to fades and die in our tears

True and wise, Tate.
Oh Rita. This is really, really good. When I read it through, I was thinking of destructive floods. When I read your note, I had goosebumps. Did they find the boy? So sad and such a good poem. Angi~

It's very sad that these type of incidents happen so often. Great work, yet people need to be more careful these days. :)

Thank you, Pete.
Ah, so sad!! She water drinks at her will of the living and the dead and gives cause for many tears to flood!
Four incidents is four too many!!
