My favorite time of the year. The climate as mild as in spring but without all the rain. And especially fine for golfers like myself, for many amateurs put their clubs away around Labor Day, leaving the gorgeous courses to the rest of us. The only downer being the knowledge that winter isn't far behind.
You sent me to my dictionary. I knew that saffron was yellow and was referring to the yellowing of the foliage. I didn't know until I looked it up, that turmeric was also yellow. A cheerful poem, very much welcome among the serious, gloomy poems that abound here. Well done.. Richard

Rita,
I just saw this one. You set out wonderful images of color foreshadowing my favorite season. How could I not help but like this one.

Appropriate piece. Here in Florida I cannot wait until we get our first autumn cool front.

Great simile in this well written poem. I remember the Fall from my days in New Jersey. It is a fun transitional time of year. What a lovely nature write this is. Lydi**

yeah i like winter when sitting by a roaring fire with a bottle of good wine.in good company
Such a wonderful advent of Fall. Your seasons are really exciting because you have more seasons, unlike here we have only 2 distinct seasons- rainy and summer.
Nice poem.

Thank you, Dhaye. I am grateful for all the seasons, but fall is my favorite!
Fall is the most alluring of all the seasons.
Short and oh so sweet!
Great job with this early premonition. I think you will be a successful prophet. ;)
All of these poems about Fall are making me anxious... It's about time!!!
Southern California weather seems to be eternally hot and dry... :(
Thanks for sharing!
