First Day

I’m nervous

I’m scared

I’m quite unprepared

Tomorrow’s the first day of school

 

I’ve got my supplies

And gut-butterflies

I’m afraid that they’ll think

I’m not cool.

 

It happens each year

This September fear

Children are such 

fickle creatures

 

I’ve got to be calm

Face the day with aplomb

After all, 

I am the teacher…

My cousin teaches 7th....and I taught both 11th grade English and Kindergarten...two ends of the spectrum. I tell my cousin all the time she is teaching walking hormones. Good luck this year, Rita.

God this is such a new perspective for me. I never thought of teachers as human beings as a wee child because they seemed like sentient beings or something. I was always very very good (til I hit teenagerism - then..... Im saying nothing)
