Dear Yesterday,

I’m grateful

for the memories and lessons,

for experience and joys

beyond all measure

 

Dear Tomorrow,

Here’s my promise:

you will not go to waste;

I’ll unwrap you with the care

reserved for treasure

 

I’m thankful to you both

for you frame all that I am;

I gain the wisdom

coming either way

 

I know this to be true,

that the present would be naught

if not for past and future.

I think we can all learn some valuable lessons from some of your writing Rita. You tell a story with this one. How gratitude and being grateful can have an uplifting affect on ourselves. Life has both good and bad in it but its how we manage this in each and every day that allows us to be thankful of the lesons learned and for the lessons about to be taught.
