Very wise words here, Rita. We can not deny our past, but we do not need to be defined by it. We learn things each day of our lives and if we weed out the bad things while cherishing the good things, we blossom in the tomorrows of our lives. A philosophical beauty of a write. Lydi**
Now asked the past, "Hey, have you seen future?"
"No, I've been looking for him myself."
"He must be in the barn again, as usual, planning things."
Now said, "if you see him, tell him I need to renew his contract."
Past said, "What contract?"
Now looked at Past straight in the eyes. "you keep on forgetting, I don't want future to quit. I still have many things to do."
The news that evening said, "Future has left us,and there's no sign that he will ever return."
Now looked around, Past was not responding.
Now watched TV for hours. Then suddenly, now became past, still looking for future.
And you put those lazy phrases to work in a wonderful way.
Sometimes I think we take today for granted. We are either reliving those yesterdays (which we also took for granted when they were "today), or planning the future...which never quite works out according to our plans, anyway. Meantime, today slips past us, almost before we know it.
Very well done, my friend!!

Hi Rita. A lovely write and message for all of us about what we can learn from our yesterday's, tomorrows and today! A creative and heartfelt letter. Very nice use of personification. Flow is good; line to line transition and breaks are done well. Nice rhythm. Unique end line rhyme with the last word of each stanza. Good depth of feeling and excellent advice. I like how you express the thankfulness of each of these 'days'. I can relate. Good closing. Well penned and a much enjoyed read. Write on!
