Curiosity

That darn cat...

Curiosity must climb

to the summit of the trees

 

Curiosity will poke at

a nest that’s full of bees

 

Curiosity investigates

 the bottom of the well

 

Curiosity’s the reason

that proficiency excels

 

Curiosity’s been satisfied

fulfilling many drives

 

It’s a good thing he’s a cat,

and he has so many lives!

Very succinct and absolutely true. Curiosity may kill, but life would be mighty dull without it. "Curiosity's the reason that proficiency excels" is a splendid line that could stand as a poem alone.

I love the incredible dignity most cats have. One of my favorite stories is Rudyard Kipling's "The Cat Who Walked By Himself". If you've never read it, you should.
This poem made me giggle. It is so cute...and so true!!

Have some Kipling around - I remember my brother reading them to me as a little girl, but that was, of course, YEARS ago! My husband's favorite poem is Kipling's "If". Ok, so now I have reading homework... ;)
