A bit of perspective

I think that I am of great importance

my intentions so grand in my mind

the wide world revolves on a whim

dreams must materialize

but lately I have felt

this balloon deflate

shrinking my heart

and I know

I   am 

small

Everything you say or don't say; do or don't do affects someone somewhere in someway.

To some we are small to some we are the world. On that note I truly understand this train of thought as I have often thought I was of great importance only to find later that I mattered not a tinker's damn in the larger scheme of things.

Aww, so adorable and honest. I'm sure each one of us has felt this way at some point or another. I especially like that this piece expresses that emotion in a positive way almost, a bit lightly instead of using a negative emotional approach. You incorporated the visuals through a change in font size, very cleverly. I really enjoyed it. Very creative, Rita. :)

The way you play with the from of this piece works really well. Transitioning from those opening lines, which are really bold, into those closing line which are really small, drives home the feeling that you are going for. The picture you chose for this one also adds to what you are going for. As for the feeling, sometimes it is good to put our existence into perspective. Although, I think there is sadness and reservation in these lines...possibly a thought that those big dreams can't be accomplished?
