The Early Worm

The Early Worm

A Poem by Rita L. Sev
"

Not such a good deal for him...

"

Wriggling up from his slumber

the sun shines strong and firm

it’s a great day to get moving

for the lively early worm

There is much talk, now this is true,

about that early bird

but there are things that you should know

which you may not have heard

The fowl is hailed for conquering

late risers he has beaten

The injustice is this other fact ~

the early worm gets eaten

Ha, and you wonder why I'm not a morning person, nothing good happens that early in the day! Very clever Rita, thanks I needed that laugh!

It seems the consensus that the worm gets what's coming to him. :) Thank you, Doc!
Indeed he does. So it is good to be the early bird, rise and shine, greet the morning, but if you are a worm, it might be better served if you just stayed in your holle in the ground. Hmmm, that makes me think... :)

Very cool Rita.

My pleasure...:).............
I liked the storystelling style of poetry here. To bad for the early worm though. In the end he ends up being someone else's desert. Nice work. :)

Now,that is cute. That is the Rita I have come to know and love so much.
A perfect ending for my day...a little giggle from my precious Sister...
Before I lay me down to sleep...

G'night, g'night
And sleep ye tight!!
