Revival

Revival

A Poem by Rita L. Sev
"

Happy first day of Summer!

"

Senses overwhelmed

by this day that’s never been;

Embrace it in this moment,

and pray to meet its twin

No gloom of cloud prevails

upon the azured skies,

the birdsong a cacophony;

avian allies

From Heaven’s vault, a lemon burst

of joy on face and fields

while lime flavors each blade of grass,

the kiss of Life revealed

Blinded by the rapture of

this estival arrival

miraculous, the healing touch ~

June’s spiritual revival

I live in Florida. The summer's about 98000 degrees. It's still a great poem. Even if the summer in Florida blows.

In the second stanza last line, there's one too many syllables - "avian allies", try reducing a syllable.

I think you use complicated words very well, without losing the simplicity of your poetry.
