Poeticus Interruptus

Poeticus Interruptus

A Poem by Rita L. Sev
"

I have long held the opinion that the amount of noise that anyone can bear undisturbed stands in inverse proportion to his mental capacity... - Arthur Schopenhauer

"

I’m writing a wonderful poem,

by publishers, sure to be sought

it’s deep, and fraught with great meaning ~

WOOF!

The dog interrupted my thought…

OK, so back to my poem ~

it’s bound to be high in its score

the flow of it will be just perfect, and ~

BANG!

There’s a knock at my door…

Where was I? Oh yes, my grand poem,

I can already hear critics singing;

I’ll tell you the title, you’ll love it ~

BRRRIINNG!

What now? My cell phone is ringing!

This poem will never get written!

A shame ~ it was to be great.

I don’t know what’s the problem ~

I just can’t concentrate!

Thank you, Anto - alas, many of my meaningful pieces turn into silly bits like this one! :)
This made me giggle. If it isn't external disruptions - its your bladder...wait. That's just me.

Welcome! Anytime!
Story of my - what was I saying?

One of my favorite sayings is 'my train of thought derailed.' I know that feeling - dogs hate it when you get in the zone. They can probably smell it, the jerks.
