Poeticus Interruptus

Poeticus Interruptus

A Poem by Rita L. Sev
"

I have long held the opinion that the amount of noise that anyone can bear undisturbed stands in inverse proportion to his mental capacity... - Arthur Schopenhauer

"

I’m writing a wonderful poem,

by publishers, sure to be sought

it’s deep, and fraught with great meaning ~

WOOF!

The dog interrupted my thought…

OK, so back to my poem ~

it’s bound to be high in its score

the flow of it will be just perfect, and ~

BANG!

There’s a knock at my door…

Where was I? Oh yes, my grand poem,

I can already hear critics singing;

I’ll tell you the title, you’ll love it ~

BRRRIINNG!

What now? My cell phone is ringing!

This poem will never get written!

A shame ~ it was to be great.

I don’t know what’s the problem ~

I just can’t concentrate!

Take her out for his walk Rita and then you can settle down into some heavy poetic verse, just ignore those other sounds ! ( If possible) ?

I wasn't sure if the Latinization was correct, but it sounded good! Ha! Thanks, Mike!
Never enough hours in the day and always to much to do. Witty and engaging one. I giggled.

Ha ha...what a witty little ditty!! I was mentally jumping up and down at every stanza screaming 'that's me, that's me'. Awesome stuff!!! Loved this!!!

This was a fun read.. I tend to always leave my poems open so I can add bits between distractions. Consider yourself lucky that you have a dog! My lifestyle right now doesn't give me the ability to get one =[

Your interruptions inspired your poem. It seems that my life is much more tranquil than yours. All the events in my life are like separate files whereby they don't interfere with each other. Everything's organized within its time. I control my time; It doesn't control me. I'm not the slave of a ticking clock. I'm guided by the cadence of my internal rhythm. Sometimes my cadence synchronizes with the clock and sometimes it doesn't.
