I am at an age that can relate to this (other than the royal part). I enjoyed it immensely. Fine rythym and perfect rhyme with the line ending "prolonged in tooth" especially clever. You succeed in making a poem about old age amusing.

This is so sweet. I had to smile, being familiar with those... uhmm... little signs of maturity. I tell you, some of my parts have about matured clean off.

Ha! But good men, like fine wine, grow better with age... Thank you, Sam!
:) Good write Rita. I liked how you used grey hair as a symbol for silver which in turn is symbolic of regality. I think people tend to perceive aging in too negative a light. I like the title too, for the prince has morphed into a king. :)

When he read this, he said that he'd rather be a King, because princes tend to be foolish, while a king will fight for a worthy cause. :) Thanks, Rocans!
Age catches up to all of us eventually, especially those we hold in such high regard. We notice it even more than usual in those figures, because we examine them so closely. I really like the way you set this one up, and the rhyme is brilliant. It's both interesting and difficult to watch the ones we love age, and you display that feeling brilliantly. Excellent work, Rita.

It's a strange thing - age sneaks up on you looking in the mirror, and then slams into you full on when looking at a loved one. Thank you for your kind review!
