King Charming

King Charming

A Poem by Rita L. Sev
"

A prince no more...

"

My handsome prince once moved with ease

Now his legs ache from feet to knees

His boyish grin, still so endearing,

Though he’s lost a bit of hearing

That touch of silver in his hair;

I don’t recall that being there

Once majestic in my eyes

His royal title realized

Stood so regal in his youth,

Now we’re both prolonged in tooth

A prince no more, the crown I bring

Is for my sweet and Charming King

Oh, how sweet and so very romantic. How lucky you both are, to be traveling life's wonderful journey together!
We all start out as Prince Charming, or The Beautiful Princess...but how many of us get to mature into King and Queen together?
Beautiful write, my friend!!

Ha! Thanks, Serenus; I appreciate that!
I'm usually not one to get all sentimental and what not, but this is really adorable Rita lol I love how you show the progression of how your prince was once in his prime, but he slowly loses his boyish charm. However even though that is lost the love shared between you two is still burning hot. In your eyes he is not your Prince Charming anymore. He has progressed into something more than that he is your King Charming and as you both aged your love for each other enhanced more than ever before. I can really feel your admiration for your King Charming. Very good stuff here Rita.

Thank you so much, Casner! That is exactly what I wanted to convey. :)
This is so cute! I love the idea of a "king charming" that is incredibly clever and very giggle worthy. I love it.
