Karma

Karma

A Poem by Rita L. Sev
"

We find what we ARE... A senryu series

"

I sought fresh snow peas

at the farm market today

they were delicious

My words craved release

so I filled up my inkwell

and embraced the page

Holding bitterness

I tasted poison in all

now I am no more

Author's Note

Rita L. Sev
I believe that if we carry joy, and seek joy, that is what we will find. Conversely, misery seeks misery. I have seen some writers here that seem bent on finding harm, and have left the site spewing venom. I have come seeking kindred spirits, and that is just what I have found.

Thank you, Voice!
We always wind up walking in the direction we are looking. Attention focused on darkness robs the soul of light. The simple joys of life are candle flames we should cherish and protect or snow peas at the market. Inspired pure simple, great write crazer

:) A Wonderful write of Rita!!!
Greatly enjoyed, I so Love that form!!!
negativity IS rough...unfortunate that some embrace it, I do as mood strikes for in music, art, poetry...it all helps to release and heal...sometimes venting does that well for me...hate on the other hand...hate the hate indeed I do...one should never intentionally force it upon another with barbed tongue....then I find myself on the store and hear/eel the disdain in people for one another...and the hate spreads, for I hate to be near them...BEAUTIFUL Pen!!!

Indeed we sow our own seed and reap the corresponding karma. I believe this but it is hard sometimes to remember since karma is so patient in revealing one's vices.Your poem is a bit on the short side but sometimes brevity is most apt to forcefully convey a poignant point. As they say brevity is the soul of wit, this definitely applies here. Your words "My words craved release so I filled up my inkwell and embraced the page" and into the last stanza does well to highlight at least the necessity for censorship in one's writing and by extension one's thoughts...the words are very curious since I have written something vaguely similar in my most recent unpublished work. Your message is valid, and writing really comes from close to the soul and one should watch how they write their fate...myself as an example.

Excellent point about how we write our own fate, and the frustration of waiting for karma. Thank you.. read more

and i too wish for peace here...we are all poets...we are often all each other has.
Yes,you have every reason to believe that 'joy carries joy' .
Very lovely senryu series.
Each gives a feeling of pleasure the moment its reading is complete.

You are always welcome, smiling poet :)
I believe in karma....seen it come to fruition many times in my life. Sad that many do not think of their actions inevitable return. Loved all three of your senryus. Think its time for me to try my hand at one.

Be careful jumping off that soap box now!! Lol... ;-)
