There’s an eight-car pileup,

And the going is slow!

 

Here’s our high-tech chopper

For a view that’s live ~

Look at that mess

On I-95!

 

Now back to the news desk ~

Brittany and Ted?

Wait’ll you hear

Which celebrities wed!

 

That’s all the news is,

A candied word-fest

Giving no time

For our minds to digest

 

Afraid that emotion

Would make it too real ~

God forbid, we allow

For the masses to feel

its always the same just a different talking head . But in the states its nothing but tradgedy after tragedy i refuse to watch or listen to it. I have many ask well didnt you hear about? Nope and in 10 yrs it hasnt mattered a bit I missed it all and im so glad i did they cant tell the difference in partly cloudy and partly sunny.They lie and inflame our senses I see no reason to listen to them any more .

I'm like you, Rita, and think "news" these days is a pathetic joke. Remember the Eagles song "Dirty Laundry"? Folks ought to reject the garbage and demand better. We need to hear real, important news that is void of "opinion".

This made me laugh and hiss at the same time...so true, you always tell it like it is Rita! Good one, it's almost noon here but the news hasn't changed....there needs to be a channeling of real truth, no sensationalism or entertainment included and newscasters that look like the rest of us.
