Champagne DreamsA Poem by Rita L. SevThey don't lastBubbles
rose to the top Her
champagne dreams came true The
life she said she wanted It
looked as good as new But
if you look too closely You’ll
get a different view Not
the image she wants seen With
golden tongue she drew Now
I sit here, remembering The
shame she put me through; Champagne
dreams don’t last for long, But
seltzer dreams ~ they do. © 2013 Rita L. SevAuthor's Note
