Your shadow spun a tale of an open heart....succinct and to the point, the 'for one small sip of time'...what we wouldn't give sometimes. Love this one Rita.
Well toss no more,
This is so elegant and striking. A glass of wine between two people says a lot in the right moment about their relationship. Also what comes from the next moment after the wine, conversations, kisses, and more even. The way you grab the attention to the single glass is near foreboding and haunting.
"The shadow is mine"
Exquisite in it's double meaning to being alone and the shadow of the glass creating a thought of two. This is ever so beautiful and unique.
Sincerely
Christopher

Thank you for your very kind review. I truly appreciate your words!
This poem is basically one extended metaphor, and I think it is an absolutely brilliant one! No wasted words, no drawn out imagery. It is extremely concise but has stunning clarity. It is almost as if you have taken only the essence of the poem and presented it to us, making us believe, that it is all that is required.
"The glass would be all yours
The shadow will be mine"
Wow! I could go on writing about this, but I do not wish to mar the elegance of your write with a tedious and verbose appraisal. 100/100

A classic poem. So simple of word but deep in content. You are observing and telling while at the same time you open your heart for us. Very well done.
I feel the sense of melancholy reflection. You take a simple glass of wine and come up with some very deep words. You continue to amaze with your talent.

Saw Tate's review on the main home page and figured if he was giving out so much praise, this was a poem I needed to be reading... and wow was he ever right! The play between shadow and glass and shadow and body is stunning.. I could feel the wanton desire, need and passion at work in this piece. Excellent for something tossed around in your head... wow!
