Wednesday at the Diner

Wednesday at the Diner

A Poem by Rita L. Sev
"

Let's go out tonight...

"

“It’s been a long half-week, my dear,

Let’s get a hump-day treat.”

So we headed to the diner

To get a bite to eat.

We talked and ate and laughed with ease

Sharing ‘My day was…’ narration

And laughed together when a guy outside

Practiced nasal excavation

And as we savored diner pie,

Cherry crumb and banana cream,

I thought about how simple it is

To realize Life’s supreme.

Not bad. Good use of rhyme and some clever word choice here and there, especially in the second stanza. Very simple, of course, but from a purely technical standpoint you've done well. Good work.

here we go again with food....hmmm, you're a foody, aren't you? i hate it when i am having dinner in a public place and some a*****e is outside blowing snot rockets out of his nose. other than that, i enjoyed the narration and the meal. again, Rita is the master of making the everyday unique and fun!
