A Sonnet for FrankieA Poem by Rita L. SevMy dog deserves a poem - so here it is.
She's Frankie, intelligent, loyal friend
Labrador retriever with fur so dark Her kind nature a joy to comprehend I love her warmth, her games, her deep loud bark This black Lab came when we needed her most Losing our old pet had left us in shreds That spring brought a litter of nine to boast One pup rose above the other purebreds Would the cat accept this new intruder? Could she become a vessel for our love? In fact, she is the perfect life tutor Fitting our home like a hand to a glove Frankie, sweet dog, if only you could talk We'd converse each day on our two-mile walk
