I used to watch the sun rise,
As I sat in my balcony chair,
I’d close my eyes and hug my knees,
Imagining you were there.
I still remember the smiles it brought,
And somehow I wish you knew,
I’d awake with the sweetest thought,
That I’d start my day with you.
I used to turn the lights off,
And curl up every night in bed,
As thoughts of my precious sunrise,
Ran restlessly through my head.
Now I awake to rays of golden sun,
And always seem to find,
Another day and a noisy street,
The sun rise far behind.
