Mommy and Me

Mommy and Me

A Poem by Rita

I woke up today,
After a good night's sleep,
The first one in a while,
Ran down to the kitchen,
And gave Mom a kiss,
Wearing the biggest smile.
'Good Morning, Mom!'
I cried so loud.
What's for breakfast this fine day?
With a plate in her hand,
She turned to reply,
but I got in her way.
I think you can guess,
I ruined her dress,
My pink pajamas as well,
But mom was mad,
And turning red,
As far as I could tell.
Yet after a while,
Mom gave me a pat,
Then on her lap,
I climbed and sat,
We laughed it off,
And watched Tv,
Just good old fun,
Mommy and me.
