Endless War

Endless War

A Poem by Ashley Robel
"

A man caught in the rage of war for all of eternity.

"

This battle just goes on and on.

Though I died so long ago,

Still this bloodshed continues.

When will I find peace?

The clang of steel, the sound of hooves,

They haunt me in my grave.

I cannot reach the other side,

Oh, when will I find peace?

My spear runs through another man,

His blood spilling on the ground.

Caught in this prison of bloodlust and war,

Will I ever find peace?

My heart and soul long for home,

But I am confined to endless war.

My wife and child wait for me,

So when will I find peace?
