War in all of us

War in all of us

A Poem by Reason4Rissa

we made it this far
not changing who we are
yeah, we still the same
but I know one thing
we changed the game
won't let it change us
gotta earn some trust
still standin side by side
tried to run and hide
when the tables have turned
takin what we earned
I'm not livin unless I learned
from each bridge I burned
this world is full of cruelty
I'm stepping away from the royalty
this is my story
i'm writing this novelty
gotta stick with quality
while the rest of the world on that quantity
true to who I want to become
taking my steps and then some
it don't matter where I'm from
it's about how far i've come
couldn't see myself in the sun
darkness was where it all begun
happy to finally say i've won
I will survive
you see me arrive
yes i'm alive
couldn't knock me down
but you tried
still I swallow my pride

It's like I hear laughing
on the chart their graphing,
how low they can dig
giants make sure we know their big
and the deeper they go,
the less they know,
their just makin sound,
making it nowhere
wasted time
as the hand on the clock goes around
but each of us are
Trying so hard
but don't know where to start,
or how to give it any less,
so much worry in this mess.
