Reyna                Chapter Twelve

Everything had happened so fast. The intercom, I had been picked. Picked for what- I do not know. I remember breaking down, begging Mason to leave me behind.

But he had dragged me out the door with him. Then I was stuck in the hallways with nowhere to go. I remember my breath quickening as I turned down a hall as I walked into a circular room.

The last thing I remember is hitting the floor, my arm in pain. Then the pain quickly spreading everywhere. Until I was hungry. Like the hungriest I've been in a long time. I couldn't talk, and I knew my meal had just ran out the door. The only thing I could do was try to get it back. I heard a door open and looked behind me.

I felt a steady pulse pulling me, the pulse getting quicker the closer I got. The door closed behind me and I heard a whimper, my head turning towards the sound, almost automatically, unwillingly. I growled and got closer seeing a girl. She looked terrified.

I remember the scream, and the blood, then her fast breathing and agonizing screams, and my hunger reducing.

I'm not human.
