Mason            Chapter Ten

I took a deep breath as the door slid closed behind Reyna and I. "No!" Reyna screamed, pounding on the door. "Let me back in! Please!" I rolled my eyes.

"Reyna!" I shouted. "Screaming like a little p***y is not going to help!"

Reyna looked at me then kept pounding on the door. "Please!" She sobbed turning to face me. She leaned against the door and slid down to the ground, crying into her knees. I rolled my eyes and looked around. I had to admit, I was a little freaked out, panicked, scared even. But I couldn't show it.

There were two hallways, each going a different way. "Hey…" I said, slowly drawing my fixed attention back to Reyna. "Maybe we should split up… You go that way and I'll go this way?" I said pointing to the hallways to emphasize.

"What? Split up? Why?!" She asked frantically, sobbing harder. She rose to her feet quickly, losing her balance from the blood rushing to her legs. I grabbed her arm to steady her.

"Because… I don't know.. It just feels right." I said shrugging and letting go once she had her balance.

"No! No, it's not right!" She said as if I were insane. Well this is obviously some sort of Hunger Games s**t so I'm not staying with you.

"We need to," I snapped. I didn't mean to snap but this b***h was getting on my nerves. She walked over to me and put her hands on my shoulders.

"No," She said slowly and simply, I grabbed her wrists causing her to struggle.

"Yes!" I shook her as she tried hitting me.

"No!" She cried as I pushed her back, sending her down to her a*s. She looked up at me, her eyes wide and spilling more tears.

In a few seconds she stumbled back up to her feet and reached for me. I slapped her hands away and backed up.

"Go. Away." I hissed harshly. She turned sharply and ran down the hall I told her to, her cries and footsteps echoing.

I turned and ran down the other hall, my anger pushing me forward at every turn. God this is like a maze..

I heard a scream and forced myself to turn back. I faintly heard my name as I walked down the hall, as if someone was behind me, whispering my name.

The whispers got quieter in my mind as I walked down the hall. I turned down a hall that led to a big, round room with four doors. My footsteps echoed in the room.

The floors shoot suddenly, causing me to reach out for balance. I saw the circular wall rotate, the windows in the doors showing hallways, then showing wall.

"Holy s**t…" I mumbled as the floors stopped. I walked towards a hallway that had a metal door at the end of it.

"Stop," someone shouted into my ear. I turned around looking for the voice. No one was around… F**k. I must already be going crazy.

Walking closer, I neared the center of the room before the lights shut off. I lost the balance in the darkness, stumbling to my hands and knees. I felt a burning in my knee  and felt a warm, metallic smelling liquid drip down my leg. Oh great. I wonder how bad that is seeing how this is f*****g concrete. Rough concrete at that.

There was a quick flash of light and I looked up seeing white lasers blocking the doorways.

"What's going on?!" I screamed, my panic finally showing.

"Calm down," The voice said.

"No! tell me what's going on!" I shouted running towards the lasers.
