Ryan                  Chapter Eight

My chains hadn't been undone, but Ashley's have. Along with Gabri, Zoe, Brook, Mason, Tobias, Cam, and Justin's.

Justin was helping Ashley go to the west wall. What's going on…

Ashley looked at me and shrugged, as if she had heard my thoughts.

What did he mean by teams? Ashley's on a different team… Is that good or bad? What's going to happen to us? Why are we here? Why does this place smell of blood? Why can't I remember any of last night? Is this all just a really bad dream?

Questions flew through my mind, pushing to be asked, but remaining unspoken.

"Justin?" Maddy cried, pulling on her chains, fighting to get to her boyfriend.

"Mads, please don't worry baby. I don't know what's going on either.." Justin trained off setting Ashley down against the west wall that had now turned blue.

I looked at my wrists and saw nothing. Is there another team? What's the other color? Why's there teams? Do we have to fight? More and more questions filled my mind. I wanted to ask the questions so badly, but no one would know the answers.

I sighed. "So…Now what?" I looked at a small girl named Snow. She's in all of my classes. She's nineteen but I bet that girl is not a pound over 115, that girl is so tiny. I remember she's five foot three from health class.

She must have felt me looking at her because she turned her head to look at me, her black curls bouncing at the sudden movement. "I don't know," She murmured, her big green eyes looking down at her lap.

The intercom buzzed again.

"I'll answer that. I'm Jackson, I'll be the Red team's captain. Again, look at your wrists please. There will be a glowing red number and your chains will now be released. Please move to the wall that that big guy, Ryan, is at. The east wall that will turn red in a few seconds."

I watch Snow turn her wrists over, then gasp softly. She shivered and I looked at the shorts and T-shirt she was in. She must really be cold, sitting on this concrete floor.

I turned my wrists over and saw a red eight on my right wrist. Elias was helping Snow up.

"Snow, sit next to me?" I asked. She nodded and Elias walked her over. She sat next to me, Elias next to her. I saw the wall change to red behind us, the lights off above us.

"What's going to happen to us?" Snow whispered, her hands resting in her lap. Her wrists were bleeding a little, most likely from pulling on the cuffs.

"I don’t know…" I said.  I heard a small whimper and she leaned against Elias, resting her head on his shoulder. She was crying.

"I'm scared…" She whispered as Elias wrapped his arms around her.

"What's your number?" I asked Snow. Elias shot me a look as if saying "What the f**k is the matter with you?"

"Seven," She muttered. Oh…
