“Hey, Gabri!” Justin shouted above the club’s music as Gabriella walked into the room, just like every girl here she had on makeup and was made to look like perfection. Her light brown hair was draped around her slim shoulders in natural waves, her equally brown eyes met mine and she scowled before looking back to Justin and smiling again. Everyone hates me, now.

“Hey, you!” She said as Justin grabbed my arm and dragged me towards the entrance of the room. I tried pulling away but he looked at me as if I was stupid until I stopped. F**k… God, please help me.

Gabriella had a girl with her, I vaguely recognized her as Reyna Conwell. I smiled politely at the redhead and started scanning the crowd for Ash. Last month I had gotten drunk at a bon fire and we were playing truth or dare. Well I got dared to kiss some girl, and being drunk I didn’t think it through before I started making out with the girl. Ashley picked that moment to come back outside after going to the bathroom. A collective “Oh, s**t.” could be heard through the group and everything played out like a movie. Ashley looked torn as she quickly walked over to the lawn chair she was sitting in and grabbed her bag, she was determined to get away from me, even if it meant that she would be walking home. I don’t blame her. I broke her heart when I loved her and she loved me, all because I was too drunk to think.

“Hey!” Gabriella said, snapping her fingers in my face to pull me out of my thoughts. She sounded annoyed and I knew she was just going to give me s**t, just like all of Ashley’s friends do and did. Not that I didn’t deserve it.

“What?” I asked a little too harshly, blinking and drawing my attention back to her. Her eyes were narrowed at me, she gets annoyed when people don’t listen to her. I looked over at Justin and he smirks at me, I’m on my own.

“Did you hear me?” She asked, putting her hands on her hips. “I asked what you were doing here.” She shook her head and settled on crossing her arms instead. God, so indecisive. “You told everyone you most likely weren’t coming. Now Ash is"”

“Wait, Ashley’s here?” I cut her off, hoping the hope wasn’t so obvious in my voice. The look on Gabri’s face told me it was. The truth was I missed Ash and I felt like s**t for what I did, especially since I never meant for it to happen. That’s exactly why I haven’t drank since that night.

She clenched her jaw and finished her sentence. “Probably going to freak out. She’s going to be running for the hills when she sees that you’re here.” She uncrossed her arms. I knew Ashley hated me, she has a reason to though.

I quickly walked away to go look for Ashley, ignoring the shouts coming from Gabri’s big mouth. If I was dead if I didn’t come back to Gabri, then so be it. I’d rather be dead right now anyway. She’s got to be here somewhere.

I quickly turned a corner, running into several people, their drinks spilling all over the place. A girl jumped back as her glass fell from her hand to the floor, the red wine splashing against her white shirt as the wine glass shattered.

“Whoa… Hey, man” She slurred, a sly grin creeping onto her face. The girl’s red lipstick was smeared and her hair was a mess, she was clearly drunk and she has clearly been busy. Her black pumps crushed the glass into smaller pieces as she got close to me, the crunching sound of the glass was low against the sound of the club music. Underage drinking… Check.

“Sorry,” I mumbled, backing up as the girl came closer. The grin still on her face, she tucked a few dollars into the pocket of my shirt. “You’re going to have to buy me a new drink…” She drunkenly slurred into my ear. A disgusted frown appeared on my face as her breath fanned my face, the smell of cheap wine made me want to gag.

I held onto her arms as she wobbled so she wouldn’t snap an ankle since her heels were just too tall for a skinny girl that was drunk off her a*s. “Yeah, Hun, it looks like you’ve already had enough cheap, three dollar wine.”

“Zoe!” A guy yelled, pushing his way toward Zoe from the bar as her head snapped to the side to look at the guy. A huge grin appeared on her face as he pulled her arm away from me, sending her stumbling and crashing into his chest. Tobias?

“Tobias?” I repeated aloud. The girl, Zoe, was hanging all over him as she begged him to get her another drink as she promised she would repay him in ways that made me sick to my stomach. He looked up at me, his scowl becoming a smile. At least someone doesn’t hate me.

“Liam? Holy s**t!” He laughed and punched my arm after sitting Zoe down in a chair. She whined in protest, still begging for a drink of any kind. She probably wouldn’t even care if you gave her straight up vodka.

I smiled. “Hey, how’ve you been? Di you just get home?”  Must’ve just gotten back from the exchange program. He’s been gone for two months, touring Europe with a group of kids from around the country. Perks of having rich parents, I suppose. That’s what this party was for, his homecoming. His parents rented out the whole club and he invited everyone he knew. His parents had bad taste in alcohol, or Tobias did.

“Great. Hey, uh, you remember Zoe, right?” Zoe tried grabbing for drink. He laughed and held it farther away from her, a frustrated sigh coming from Zoe in return. “No, babe, you’ve had enough.” He nodded at the red splash of wine on her shirt. “Obviously,” Heh… oops.

“Zoe…?” I trailed off asking for a last name, the drunk girl looked familiar but I doubt I knew her very well. He held up his finger and took a drink of what looked like beer. “Zoe Wells,” He finally said.

“Oh yeah.” I started walking away to find Ash, I’d probably have to look in places I’ve already looked for her by now.. “Hey, uh, I got to go.”

“You're looking for Ash, aren't you?” Tobias smirked knowingly, I hoped he didn’t know what happened between me and her. I felt my face flare up.

“Yeah...” I looked around awkwardly. He must not know what happened since he isn’t giving me the cold shoulder like everyone else. He laughed and pointed with his beer in the direction of Ashley.

“Back room.” He sat Zoe back down in the chair as she tried to get up to get his beer, this girl would not give up.

“Yeah! She's in the back with Brook Henders and Cameron Hester.” Zoe slurred, rolling her eyes. She also pointed towards the back of the club before her arm flopped back down into her lap, too much alcohol in her bloodstream for her brain to control her limbs.

“Thanks,” I said, walking towards the back room. “Get her some water or something.” I mumbled, shoving my hands in my pockets as I walked, trying to avoid touching anybody. I’d never have a chance at talking with Ashley if she saw me touch some girl, even if it was accident.

“Liam Catcher, you sorry Son of a B***h,” Someone laughed. I turned to face the slender figure. She had her arms crossed against her chest, her thin white shirt showing her lacy black bra. I groaned and tried my best to smile at her.

“Maddy,” I said smiling. “Isn't Justin looking for you?” She shrugged.

“Eh, I don't know. More than likely, yes.” I mentally took note of that. Her black pencil skirt made her body look provocative, exactly what she would need to get boys to chase her.

“Well I kind of have something I'm in the middle of doing. Why don't you go look for him?” And leave me alone you cheating s**t.

“Oh alright,” I heard her say in a disappointed tone before I started towards the back room again.
