Dancing in the StreetsA Poem by RissThis is the song with no changes to it, I'm probably going to go back and fix it up.Men breaking down by, the sight of scars on their own knees Could care less when, we're out here dancing in the street
The frost from your breath, Tastes like a promise The songs that we sing, They're all heartfelt but tuneless While we're dancing in the streets, Closing eyes to our bloody knees
Will you say my name in Paris? In the puddles that my boots missed, Sweet heart, why you crying? You know, baby I'm trying So'm I, But for tonight
The star lights look amazing, When I'm seeing them through your eyes Easy to please, doesn't apply, But for tonight, Baby I'm trying
And this isn't about us, About where we should be. You're still clueless when, You say no and I say please. This isn't really about love, But what else have we got
My pretty lip stain's washed away, Tears have dried over my face, My eyes still sting and I can't say What you did to me today. Because I know that you can't stand it, I know how bad it'd hurt you, What you did to me today.
The wind though all of me, feels like freeness Your voice against my neck Sounds just like home Your cry hurts like I know hell would, Like if you'd leave me for my own
You hold my hands, just like they're broken, Your ragged heart, sounds so damn lonesome Your kiss tastes like a truce, A promise, While we're out here, let's be honest, The songs we love are all, but soundless While we're dancing in the streets
The conrete on my feet, The music gone, but it was sweet, Our breath catching, While we're dancing, In the streets © 2010 RissAuthor's Note
