I open my eyes to an all too familiar ceiling, one I've stared at a million times before. I try propping myself up on my elbows when a shock of pain ripples through the side of my head.

"Ugghhh!"

The pain vibrates around my head down my neck and through my toes, I automatically sit back. In less then a minute I feel a soft hand on my right temple followed by a cooler feeling.

"Easy Chase, you're ok"

Daniel gently rests a cold ice pack on my temple then rests his hand on my cheek. Did it happen again? Was it bad? Am I ok this time? I slowly prop myself up once again and turn to face Daniel.

"How bad?"

As soon as the words leave my lips his face drops. He spins around in his chair to avoid my eyes. Must be bad then. He speaks in a gentle calm voice which made me feel a whole lot worse.

"You've been out for about an hour and a half Hailey, when you blacked out I caught you but you hit against the tree."

Well that sucks. Ever since I was a little girl I would always have these little black outs and faints, no one really knew why they happened or how to prevent them so we just, let them happen. The doctor says that the longer I'm out the worse I'm getting. I've never been out for more then half an hour to forty-five minutes. An hour and a half? What does that mean? Now he's facing me eyes searching for a reaction which never comes.

"Well it could have just been the situation, it's ok it's probably nothing I'm not worried, Are you? Well you shouldn't be because nothing is wrong hey I'm just peachy"

I breathe in after saying that whole thing in one breath and Daniel smiles and nods slowly. He leans back on his swivel chair crossing his arms and raising an eyebrow a small smirk appearing on his face.

"You were never a good liar Chase"

I flung my head back in frustration thinking to myself I can't get worse what was I supposed to do. Oh shoot in this whole thing I forgot about the real problem. I sat up slowly and faced Daniel once again a look of worry over my face. I smile a little touching my lips then quickly stop when I notice him looking at me.

"Dani, d-did w-e, we"

He runs his hand up the back of his neck inhaling to then exhale, he stutters over his words like he's not quite sure what to say either.

"Look, Hailey I'm sorry, you were right I was just a little wasted but can you really blame me I just got cheated on, I know I shouldn't have done that and I'm sorry I don't know what got into me." 

I looked into his red streaked beautiful blue eyes and began to wonder. He looks away avoiding my gaze a light pink blush runs over his face. Adorable. So did he not mean it? Did he kiss me just because? Was I the only one that felt something? I brush away the feeling of disappointment. I don't feel anything for him it was just the heat of the moment right? Right he's just my best friend.

"Daniel it's ok really I'm fine and I'm glad I was able to be there, I got worried when you were gone for too long so I went looking for you and yea heat of the moment and all it really meant nothing"

Ouch that hurt (Quote Daniel😂) I felt a sting in my chest and look at Daniel, he's looking at me with a pained look quickly getting rid of it a replacing it with a fake smile I saw right through.

"Yeah, nothing at all, heat of the moment, that's it"

An awkward silence falls over the room sitting with our heads flung back. I mentally facepalm, pretty obvious that's not what he wants, I think.

"Um and don't worry about the paparazzi and nonsense it won't get far I promise."

He smiles at me before running a hand through his hair yawning. (He looks like a puppy when he yawns) by this time it's about after 4 am and I guess we both were pretty tired after tonight.

"I'll um, go over to my room so you can sleep I see we are both a little worked"

I smile a little before attempting to get up and walk to my room. I begin to swing my leg off the bed and immediately feel a shooting pain, I fall back onto the bed inhaling sharply. I look over at Daniel when the pain finally goes back to normal and he looks like he just peed himself.

"Um Hailey you can just sleep in here tonight if you cant move I don't mind really"

He smirks at me the corner of his mouth creasing a little and I roll my eyes. He stands up and begins picking up a couple items as I realize their what he needs for bed. He walks towards the door turning off the lights.

"Wait! Dani where are you going?"

He stops at the door and turns around.

"I was going to sleep on the couch tonight"

He scratches the back of his neck looking down a look of confusion floating over my face. What was wrong we'd always sleep together if we needed to, whenever we went back home we always shared a room what's wrong with now? Is he mad?

"Daniel you don't have to leave your room just because I'm here, we, we'd always sleep together what's wrong?"

He looks at me and sighs then continues to open the door a little more.

"I think you need your rest Chase, ill see you later sleep well"

He smiles before leaving the room and closing the door behind him the sound of his footsteps echoing down the stairs. What. Just. Happened. Is he really that upset? I lean back on his bed staring once again at the ceiling I would look at with my best friend many nights, when I couldn't sleep, or nights where I had bad dreams, or nights when I felt lonely. I never would have thought id be lonely in his bed. Guess things change.
