A Chance, An Opportunity

A Chance, An Opportunity

A Poem by Ripple of Aqua
"

What does it mean for us for Opportunity to be at our door?

"
There are far too many,
So many that we could never count.
They form in the way of words,
In smiling bright faces,
In the best test score you've ever gotten;
It's not your best friend,
And it's not happiness.
But it can be great to be in company with.
Movie stars have it pouring from their pockets,
Celebrities keep it on their shoulders,
A person like me, keeps it on a chain,
Where it sits close to my heart,
And hope for it to bloom further into something fantastic.
No, not a flower,
Nor is it gold.
But gold is its frame of mind,
It clings to those bricks and those coins,
Making your shoulders lighter when you hold its hand.
But too much of it, yes, that might be a problem.
It will also be the one to hunch your shoulders,
Its hands will also be what stings your eyes,
Laughter will build from its belly and will be let loose on you as he sees fit.
It is a devil in disguise sometimes,
Yet is the one that pushes you forward as you dig your feet in the ground.
It will keep pulling until finally you inch closer
And fall into its arms in tears.
Of joy? Of sadness?
That's your call;
It's just an opportunity waiting at your door.

Author's Note

Ripple of Aqua
Something that showed up in the middle of the night, I thought it be a little bit of a breather from totally thinking about the good vs bad thing.
An opportunity is an opportunity, that's just all there is to it.
