What's Going on?A Poem by Ripple of AquaWith questions swirling, images whirling, making you so confused you become the one lost.My ears covered, with the scotch taped over my eyes Everything blurs insubstantial as it passes me Shapes and sounds I don’t know of Is there something wrong? Has something happened? Can someone tell me? My hands bound beside me, with lead in my ankles The ground changes and moves Vibrating with some sort of life What’s going on? Is there anyone out there? Does anyone know what is happening? Screams and shouts; Explosions and tumults; Glass shattering, metal bending; I know it must be there. But where? How can I know that’s what I’m hearing? That those shapes strewn across me are people? Was that really smoke rising? Finally I cannot take it Under the bandages, under the sound of a monitor A beeping stutters Warmness falls across my cheek And noises themselves come from my mouth: “Help.” © 2012 Ripple of AquaAuthor's Note
