Your Spotlight

Your Spotlight

A Poem by Ripple of Aqua

Lines are drawn in the sand
Placed by selfish protection;
A curse passed over it
So none shall pass.
But I am the only one to verse
these great stone walls,
Cold and barring I whisper to the chill
"Why me?"
I stand alone on this mountain,
Praise and sun you spread around me.
Unlike the rest of the world
Speck in the window,
And still you cast the rest away
But me,
I'm I a beacon of sorts
to archer  you to the docks?
Am I the tallest tree
that you find coming back to climb?
I do not mind,
But I am alone on this beach;
I am stranded in this desert;
Your anchor,
Your guide,
You ask and speak like none I know.
Words both of winter chill
of fiery hells.
I hear it all; your mirror on the wall
But I am just a simple girl;
Unable to breathe underneath your spot light.
