The Unknocked Door

The Unknocked Door

A Poem by Rion

I watched, I waited, the unknocked door,

You didn’t come, my heart’s so sore,

I sigh, I leave, I wait no more,

You hurt me, deeply, to the core.

I walk, I weep, on my way home,

By myself, on the street, I feel so alone,

I stumble, I fall, on the ground I am thrown,

The pain, the hurt, it’s all I have known.

I struggle, I fight, I climb to my feet,

I begin to walk the path well beat,

I dream, I think, of the time we shall meet,

For you are the one I wish to greet.

I limp, I hobble, to home in this lane,

Tears in my eyes, but ignoring the pain,

I open, I close, the door so plain,

With nothing to lose, I have nothing to gain.

I sit, I stretch, to my wounds I mend,

Into this world, I wish I could blend,

I watch, I wait, the emotions, I fend,

The darkness sets in, this is the end.

Quite an interesting title.
A good rhythm, a good flow: would make a good song.
"Into this world, I wish I could blend". Seems to describe exactly what I'm always feeling, wishing, wanting.
Most days these days I dread going home.
