Brook

Brook

A Poem by Rimjhim

The Sun shines bright over the bridge,
but the sparkling water of the brook has to pass through the shadow under.

The darkness beneath the bridge dominates the sunbeam,
but this is only for a while, until the brook crosses the shadow.

For that period, the brook may lose its sparkle
but the life under water stays aloof from the conspiracy of the arch.

The surface of the brook may lose its brilliance,
but the maritime life breathes in peace.

The brook in its journey towards the sea has to pass by many arches,
but come what may, it choses to flow through all the ups and all the downs!
