My Inner MeA Poem by RiliViviA little something from back in the day that I wrote.
I know this girl, forlorn and lonely.
Her eyes, cold and lifeless Look longingly at the black sea That mirrors her bleak existence. Aimlessly, she walks along the beach of her life Thinking why she lives this life of hers. She turned her back on all That could have been her friend. The thought of the reapers embrace Plagues her mind. He calls to her, Always saying that he will whisk her away, Away to a better place. She tries to resist his embrace, But he brings her closer and closer each time. She turns and looks at me. Those cold, lifeless orbs of hers Send shivers up my spine. Her gaze then turns to the sea. It penetrates the waters, Finally seeing an escape from her life. She gives me one last look Then walks into the waters, Never to return again… I call her name, so she will turn back. Hoping that this is all just a dream, I close my eyes. My reflection stares back at me. But what I see in my reflection is not me. Instead, it is the same girl I saw before, I knew it was she when I saw her eyes. Cold and lifeless they may be, But right then, as she looked back at me, I knew who she was. My inner me. © 2017 RiliVivi |
