He must be the sun

He must be the sun

A Poem by Riley McKinney

He must be the sun and I must be the moon.

He burns anyone who gets too close.
And I drown people with my tides.

He must be the sun and I must be the moon.

He left my body red and hot.
I left his body cold and blue.

He is the sun and I am the moon.

He rises when I set.
I set when he rises.

He is the sun and I am the moon.

We are destined to say "It's just wrong timing" our whole lives.
We are destined to never quite match up.

He must be the sun and I must be the moon.

Always a pair but never together.

This is very clever. Love the analogy. Cool ending. I wouldn't want to tangle with either of you. This was very creative and I enjoyed reading it.

Oh oh! Sometimes love can be so hopeless. you think you found the one but you just can not seem to fit on the same page. i love the way you portrayed it with this powerful piece

This is so powerful and and beautiful. You can really feel the longing. I love the metaphor! It really suits the poem. The last line is so beautiful! I feel as if half the world feels the same way. Your words flowed together so smoothly! Loved it!

This is really beautiful and romantic, yet so soft and light...Really nice job, also quite sure that there are plenty of people who can relate to this.
"Always a pair but never together."
The ending is perfect.
