Hang Up

Hang Up

A Poem by Riley

She said yes,
Not to me, to the other guy,
That's okay, I guess,
I'm fine really, you can tell from the tear in my eye,

I dreamt that she sent a text
Saying she made the wrong choice
That she misses my voice
My warm embrace
How I made her heart race
And always put a smile on her face

Alarm goes off, I wake up
Double tap the screen to wake my phone up
No new message, no new chat on WhatsApp

Sulking, heart heavy as lead,
There it is again the voice in my head.

"Come on Riley, why do this to yourself?
Get rid of that fairy tale book from your shelf,
Please stop pretending
That you believe in a happy ending
It's over, done, you can do no more,
Impossible, Homer Simpson living with no Moe
I doubt she's even thinking of you,
Do the same and move on dude"

Amazing! I love how relaxed this writing is. You've written it very well, and it sounds great!
Lots of emotion in one piece,
Keep writing!
