Locked Out

Locked Out

A Poem by Riley

Been knocking on this door for a while
So long my fingers are hurting
I tried my key but it seems like she changed the locks
She never had time for me, should I have got her more clocks?
Now I'm locked out, probably from heaven
Someone call the fire department or dial 9/11
Maybe someone broke in and stole what I wanted
Neither chasing the sun nor curving bullets is what I wanted
I guess now it's too late
The heart hoped to occupy is to let
A new tenant will move in

Hoping to get along with the landlady
I'm sure they will
She's such a nice lady
