Goddess of the Moon and Stars

Goddess of the Moon and Stars

A Poem by Marlice Morgan

She walked among the stars
floating somewhere out in space
her hair like the golden rays of sunsets
as moonbeams shine down upon her face

Swimming in the deepest blues of the longest night
reside her skirts made of glittering galaxies
swirling ever so bright

watch as she dances while the planets sway and  spin
a silent waltz belonging only to them
stopping when the chants float by
on icy clouds she can hear their cries

"Oh Goddess of the moon and stars
hear our pleas from near and far
rain down upon us your pale starlight
and bless us on this moonlit night"
