Hide and Seek

I’m weary with this game of hide and seek,
Searching still for what I think I know.
Will I find that all the world is bleak?

My heart is full of words that I should speak,
They tell what all I feel, deep down below:
I’m weary with this game of hide and seek.

It’s not the time for nature to be meek!
Why can I not allow the words to flow?
Will I find that all the world is bleak?

Our city’s walls have fallen to the Greek
Who inside the sign of peace did stow.
I’m weary with this game of hide and seek.

All that was fermented. Now we reek
Of rotting fruit and I should choose to go.
Will I find that all the world is bleak?

I kept my word and yet my eyes still leak
With every phrase you said, a fool’s sorrow.
I’m weary with this game of hide and seek…
Will I find that all the world is bleak?
