1,000 Lives

1,000 Lives

A Poem by Riley Adams
"

A musing on what I would do with my time if I had some. :)

"

One Thousand Lives

If I had one thousand lives I’d do it all.

I would rule the world
With an iron fist,
Then give myself up
To the radical revolution
For some overdue excitement.

I would give flowers to cops,
Candy to children
And myself to those who need.

I would make pizza with my toes
And maybe, maybe
Just once vote republican.
(or perhaps some things don’t change)

I would visit the moon
And
Saturn in one evening,
Run naked through Chicago
And ride a giraffe to China (and back)

I would teach singers the art of being tone deaf,
The fit the art of slacking
And writers the art of letting go.

I would love fearlessly.

But, being blessed with one life,
I will go gray, settle for it
And tell you all about it.
