I Want To Know

 

I don’t want to be another nameless face

Wandering aimlessly through life

No knowing

Who we are

What we are

I want to know

What I stand for

And who stands with me.

 

What are we?

Are we destined to be just another generation?

Cold and uncaring

Simply pushing past in this rat race

Never quite able to keep the pace

Getting old far too soon

Doing the same old thing again and again

Never learning

 

I want to get off of this ride

Break out of the pattern

Change my mind

Are you on my side?

 

I want to make some noise

So that just maybe

Others will hear and listen.

Just maybe they will do something

Maybe open their eyes

Open their mouths

And scream.
